Students showcase skills at dental meet

CKS Teja Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, part of the Chadalawada educational group, hosted the 2nd Andhra Pradesh State-level undergraduate talent search dental competition at its campus in Tirupati last Friday. BDS students from across the State converged here for the event, which was designed to extract academic excellence and prepare them for higher strata in their career. Competitions were conducted in essay writing, wax carving, paper presentation and dental quiz. Group chairperson Ch.Sucharita said the idea was conceived to unravel the talent hidden in the UG students.

Second year students tried their hands on wax model tooth carving, the basic test to understand the shape and composition of dental makeup. The third year students were made to write an essay on ‘Infection control in dental office', while the final students gave a PowerPoint presentation on various academic subjects. Superintendent of Police (Admin) R.N.Ammi Reddy was the chief guest . RUSSH Hospitals managing director C. Subramanyam gave away the prizes to the winners. Principal Datta Prasad presided over. C.Mahendra Raju and D.Madhu Babu from the department of Periodontics acted as the coordinators.
