PTU in unique tieup with Canada university

Jalandhar: The Punjab Technical University (PTU) has entered into a tie-up with University Canada West (UCW), Canada for academic cooperation.
   
R P S Bedi, Dean (Distance Education Programme) of the University, said here today that the PTU had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which UCW had agreed to give recognition and credit to the students of MBA first year studying in PTU's affiliated colleges as well as MBA first year students of Distance Education programme of PTU.
  
It means that these students after having passed MBA first year will be eligible to join final year MBA in UCW and thus get MBA degree from University Canada West, he said adding this degree from UCW would enable the students to get two to three years work permit leading to Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada.
  
Under this agreement, even the students who have graduated with BBA and B. Tech degree from PTU would be eligible to join the one year MBA programme of University Canada West, he said adding UCW has also agreed for the faculty and student exchange programme between both the universities.
  
Diwankar Gandhi, Director - South Asia and Middle East for University Canada West (UCW) said the MBA degree of UCW is globally recognised. UCW is one of the topmost private Universities of Canada duly accredited, approved and recognized by Government of Canada.
