Karunya University signs MoU with Tessolve Services

Karunya University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tessolve Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, recently. Under the terms of the agreement, Karunya and Tessolve would jointly explore the development of technologies and improve the capabilities of common interest. Also, students would be able to pursue diploma courses in Embedded and Wireless Technology.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company conducted campus interviews at Vivekanandha Educational Institutions, the College of Engineering for Women, the Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, and the Institute of Informatics and Management studies (Tiruchengode). Officials from HP, including interviewed the students. Of the 221 students interviewed, 20 received offers with a starting package of 3.25 lakh per annum.

The Department of Business Management of Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts & Science organised a seminar on “Communicative skills” for undergraduate business students recently.

M Ramesh, PG Teacher of Government Higher Secondary School, Tirupur, conducted the programme. Mr. Ramesh emphasised the value of phonetics and suggested ways in which students could improve their communication skills. He provided information to help rural students from a regional medium background. S Natarajan, Principal of Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts& Science addressed the gathering and G. Angaiah, the dean, offered felicitation.

The Department of Social Work from Dr. GRD College of Science organised a rural camp recently at Kurunallipalyam, a village near Pollachi.

Thirty-two students of I MSW, lead by faculty members B. Nalina and Krishnadas, organised a variety of programmes.

E-Learn India 2009, an international conference, was conducted at Black Thunder Resort recently. Union Minister of Communications and Information A. Raja inaugurated the conference and R.V. Subramonian, Principal of Dr. R.V. Arts and Science College, Karamadai, presided over the conference. Delegates from 14 universities in India, Nepal, Dubai, and Sharjah participated in the conference and presented research papers on e- learning. The Minister conferred Honorary Doctorates to several guests at the conference.

The Dr. N.G.P. Business School, Coimbatore, organised a one day faculty development programme on Emerging Paradigms in Indian Business Education on the college premises recently. About 50 faculty members from various colleges across the State participated. Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman of KMCH, inaugurated the conference.

The Sankara Institute of Management Science organised a seminar on personality development recently. K.P. Krishnamurthy, Corporate Head of Match point, Chennai, was the chief guest. Professor J. Srikanth, Director of the Sankara Institute of Management Science, Dr. R. Selva Kumaran, Principal of SANSAC, and Bhalaji Gurusaami, placement officer, were present at the meeting.
