IGNOU to set up centre in Nagaland

Kohima: Indira Gandhi National Open University will set up a centre of learning at Chuchuyimlang village in Mokokchung district here in collaboration with Nagaland Gandhi Ashram.

A three-member team led by Jayashree Kurup, Deputy Director, IGNOU (North-East Region) recently visited the village for an on the spot assessment of the site and held discussions with the villagers.

Interacting with the villagers, Kurup said the new centre will focus on areas of social work, agriculture, vocational training, teachers training, Naga arts and crafts, North East affairs, tribal studies and studies on the Father of the nation.

The centre will be known as 'Mahatma Gandhi College of Social Work', she added.
