UP school students to get computer training

Bhadoi: Students of higher secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh will be provided free computer education, state Secondary Education Minister Rangnath Mishra said today. 

 "The state will provide free computer education to students in all government and government-aided high schools and intermediate colleges," Mishra told reporters here.  He said that computer education will also be imparted to one teacher from each school to ensure quality learning among the students.

"The Secondary Education Board will provide Rs 8.5 lakh to every school and college to purchase computers, peripherals and a generator," he said.  The minister said that the board will also provide a computer trainer in every school and the "trainer  will be engaged on contract for five years.

The scheme will be launched as a special package for secondary education, he said, adding that the board was in the process of implementing grading system from the next academic session after which changes will be made in the question papers.

 "However, this year high school and intermediate examinations will be held as per the old pattern," he added.
