B-school students have a gala time

The CSIR-UGC test for junior research fellowship and national eligibility test for chemical, earth, life and mathematical and physical sciences will be held at the following centres in Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology, Guru Nanak college, Government Arts College (Men), Dr. MGR. Janaki Arts and Science College, Chellammal College for Women, Sri Sankara Matriculation HSS, Bharath Senior Secondary School and Nellai Nadar MHTrishna, the annual B-school fest of IBS Hyderabad was a felicitous mix of fun and business with students from 20 business schools showcasing their talents.

With the theme “Pandemonium – Ordo ab chao” as its background, the fest conducted a host of events. The formal events covered the various streams of MBA, such as Finance, Marketing, HR, IT and Operations. A platform where the best brains in India came together to contribute in thought and action via a Business Plan, quiz, and other mind-boggling events. These were judged by eminent people from the business world such as Raghu Batta, Vaishnavi Reddy, Rajesh Kapoor who are successful venture capitalists.A series of informal events were also held, a perfect blend with the War of DJ's, War of Designers, War of Dances, street plays and many more. The fest was a huge success with the contributions from faculties and students.

A 15-month Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management for professions with managerial work experience between three and five years from various disciplines and functional experience will be offered by Institute of Public Enterprise from January 4, 2010. A three-week international coursework will take place at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia besides, a visit to companies in Budapest, Hungary, a press release said.

The programme offers electives in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations, Systems and Economics.

Indian School of Business team comprising of Bhargava Elamanur and Aditya Balan won the first prize at the annual NTPC “Electron Quiz – 2009” Southern Region competition held recently in Hyderabad. The first Runner Up prize was also bagged by another ISB team comprising of Kaushik Sridhar and Hari Shenoy. Raja Satish and Angana Deb from ICFAI were declared the second Runner-Up.

The NTPC Electron Quiz-2009 was organised for students from Engineering colleges and Business School.N. Kannan, General Manager (Commercial), NTPC Ltd., gave away prizes of to the winners. The top three teams from the Southern Regional level competition will participate in the National Finals at New Delhi on December 23. The final round of NTPC Electron Quiz will be hosted by noted quiz master Derek O' Brien.S on December 20.
