Railways planned to set up 18 Medical Colleges

New Delhi: Ministry of Railways, K.H. Muniyappa   proposed to establish 18 Medical Colleges attached to existing Railway hospitals through Public Private Partnership.

Chennai, Hyderabad, Bilaspur, Lucknow, Barasat, Bhubaneshwar, Mysore, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jodhpur, Gardenreach, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, B.R.Singh Hospital/Kolkata, Bhopal, Jammu and Thirvanthapuram are the places which are on the list of the government for the construction of the medical colleges, said an official press release.

Seven Nursing Colleges are also to be established at Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai (Kalyan), Chennai, Secunderabad, Lucknow and Jabalpur attached to existing Railway Hospitals through Public Private Partnership.

Railways also propose to set up a training institute at Dankuni (West Bengal).
