10th National Management Quiz

Kolkata: All India Management Association (AIMA), conducted the 10th National Management Quiz competition 2009 in the eastern region in association with Sanmar Group on December 9.

A record number of 40 corporate teams participated in the quiz held in Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Singh, CMD, AIMA said: ”This competition aims to build a platform to create a healthy spirit of competitiveness among the professional managers in the country & recognize excellence.”

“Professional managers are constantly seeking out new ways and means to enhance their knowledge and insight. We hope this competition will provide them with a platform that encourages talent and leadership skills and an opportunity to benchmark their knowledge and skills in a quiz which is very comprehensive in its content,” he further added.

S P S Jaggi, from Steel Authority of India (SAIL) was the quiz master in today’s competition. The winners from the Eastern region finals were Sabyasachi Pani and Santanu Dey from Vizag Steel Plant and the first runners - up were Abhishek Das and Sudip Kalyan Dey from Tata Consultancy Services.
 
They winning team and the runners-up team of the Eastern Regional Finals were awarded trophies and a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
 
The top two teams of the eastern regional round will now compete for National Championship at the Grand finale, which is scheduled in Mumbai on December 21. At the grand finale, there will also be an interactive question and answer session for all the participants where they would be awarded with attractive prizes and gifts, therefore enhancing their excitement in the competition.

The first runner-up, second runner-up, regional winners, regional runners up will receive cash prizes and participation certificates respectively. A record number of teams from across the country are participating in this competition this year.
 
N Venkat, CEO & ED, Emami Ltd and Anil Sinha, president, Hindalco Ltd were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. They handed over the awards to the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Sinha appreciated the efforts of AIMA in building competitiveness of the managers through quizzing. He said, more and more companies are encouraging their managers to compete for this championship.
