Applications invited for State entrance test

The Commissioner for Entrance Examination has invited applications for the entrance examinations to be held from April 19-22, 2010 (10 a.m.-12.30 p.m.) for admission to the following degree courses in Kerala.

Medicine: MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BSMS

Agriculture: B.Sc. (honours) agricutlure, B.FSc. (fisheries), B.Sc. (Hons) forestry.

Veterinary: B.V.Sc. and Animal husbandry

Engineering: B.Tech. in various disciplines, B.Tech. in agricultural engineering, dairy science and technology.

Architecture: B.Arch.

Applicants should be Indian citizens. Both Keralites and non-Keralites can apply. The non-Keralites categories include those who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are the sons/daughters of employees of Government of India serving in Kerala at least for a minimum period of two years. Applicants belonging to other States are eligible for admission to merit seats in private self-financing engineering colleges and management quota seats . Non-Keralites candidates will be considered for admission against reserved seats.

Eligibility

For medical/ agriculture and veterinary courses, the applicant should have Plus Two or equivalent examination with at least 50 per cent marks in biology and 50 per cent marks in aggregate in physics, chemistry and biology put together.

Those who wish to take admission to MBBS/ BDS courses should score 50 per cent marks in the medical entrance examination. For B.VSc. and animal husbandry course, applicants should have passed Plus Two or equivalent examination with 50 per cent marks in physics, chemistry, biology and English put together.

B.Sc. degree holders are also eligible to apply for medical courses. They should studied at least one of the subjects--physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, biochemistry-- as the main subject and any one or two of these as subsidiaries.

They should have scored at least 50 per cent marks in the main subject and subsidiaries taken together. They should also have passed Plus Two or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and biology as optional subjects.

For B.Tech. courses, applicants should have passed Plus Two or equivalent examination with 50 per cent marks in mathematics and 50 per cent marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry/ biotechnology/ computer science/ biology as optional subjects can apply.

Those have obtained three-year engineering diploma with 50 per cent marks in the final examination are also eligible for admission except for engineering courses offered by the KAU.

For B.Arch. course, applicants should have passed Plus Two with mathematics as a subject and secured 50 per cent marks in aggregate. Aspirants should appear in the National Aptitude Test for Architecture and should secure at least 40 per cent marks. For details, visit www.nata.in. Schedule

Entrance test for B.Tech courses-April 19, 2010, Monday (10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.), paper I: physics and chemistry. April 20, 2010: Tuesday (10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.), paper II: mathematics.

Medical entrance test-April 21, 2010: Wednesday (10 a.m. to 12. 30 p.m.), paper I: chemistry and physics. April 22, 2010: Thursday (10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.), paper II: biology. Those who are seeking admission to B.Arch. course should submit application form to the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE). There is no State-level entrance examination for this purpose. However, they should inform NATA score to the CEE before June 5, 2010. The application along with OMR data sheet should be sent to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Thiruvananthapuram so as to reach the addressee on or before January 6, 2010.
