DU holds the Summit of OlympUs

Updated on: Monday, December 07, 2009

DU is organising a three-day skill-building workshop-based summit on December 24, 25 and 26. There will be seven sessions, all with Greek-themed names, e.g.  Zeus' Enigma (leading and managing people); Hermes’ Hour (creating breakthrough communication); and Athena’s Wisdom (problem solving & decision-making).

Each deity from the Greek mythology embodies the skill to be explored in that workshop — Zeus, being the king of gods, embodies leadership; Hermes, being the messenger of gods, represents communication; Athena, the goddess of wisdom, represents finding solutions.

The summit plans to bring together some of the best minds in the country, and the target audience consists of students pursuing Bachelor's degrees. A total of 60 students will be shortlisted on the basis of a 'competitive application process' developed by DU faculty and bright young minds, using latest psychometric techniques. The application form is at http://olympussummit. du.ac.in/apply.html.

There is a Rs 300 fee for the summit. The fee includes lunch and tea for all three days along with a comprehensive Participants Kit. To know who is eligible to apply and what documents to send, visit the FAQ section: http://olympussummit.du.ac.in/about%20faq.html.

The summit venue is the conference hall opposite the department of botany, DU. For queries, call Akshay Sharma at +91-9818147108 and Ridhi Mahendru at +91-9810378092.
