NIT to start from next academic year in HP

Dehra Dun: Uttarakhand's first National Institute of Technology (NIT) would start functioning from the next academic year, official sources said today.
Infrastructure for the NIT is being set up at Sumari area in Pauri district, but it has been decided to start classes next year from the premises of government  polytechnic college in Srinagar.

A team from the government visited the government polytechnic college and held discussions with officials in this regard yesterday, they said.

There would be 180 students in the first batch and half of the total seats are reserved for students from the state.
