Rival factions clash at college

Kolkata: Supporters of SFI clashed with those of Chhatra Parishad at South City College on Thursday.
 
The disagreement was sparked by collection of membership fees. Students from both parties were injured.
 
Supporters of both student unions placed complaints with K Adhikary, the college principal, claiming that the other had brought outsiders on to the college campus.
 
SFI supporters had been seen collecting membership fees from students when members of Chhatra Parishad complained. SFI had also been campaigning in classes.
 
The encounter got out of hand when the argument turned physical.
