SEL to take over a school in Maldives

New Delhi: Shri Educare Limited (SEL), an academic entity launched by the promoters of SRF Limited, Arun Bharat Ram and family, is set to take over the management of a school in Male, Maldives for the next 15 years.
The Govt of Maldives is, for the first time, joining hands with an overseas organisation under its Public Private Partnership (PPP) policy in the field of education. The agreement in this regard, which comes into effect on 1st January 2010, was signed between SEL and the Government of Maldives in the presence of the President of Maldives, Mohammed Nasheed.

The Ghiyasuddin School of Maldives, which is being taken over by SEL, has around 1500 students enrolled from class one to seven. On its part, SEL is expected to improve the quality of education in the adopted school by way of applying the child-centric innovative methods of value-based education.
These innovative methods are modeled on the pattern of the teaching methodology of The Shri Ram Schools, which are run under the aegis of SRF Foundation. The Shri Ram Schools have been rated in 2009 for the second time running as the best day school in India by a 15-city survey conducted by Education World Magazine.


While the Education Minister, Dr Musthafa Luthfee represented the Govt of Maldives, Kartikeya Bharat Ram, Dy MD, SRF signed the agreement on behalf of SEL.
