New Delhi: A delegation of university professors from Scotland will be visiting India later this week to forge stronger ties in the field of higher education.

The delegation, which will be led by the Scottish Development International (SDI) - a government organisation that supports Scottish organisations to do business internationally - will be here to participate in the Higher Education Summit organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Nov 6-7.

Mark Newlands, international manager of SDI, said: "One of the aims of this mission is to continue the momentum our government initiated with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and its Scottish equivalent."

"Our delegation represents senior leadership of Scottish universities, reinforcing our commitment to share and exchange valuable knowledge and expertise with Indian universities," he said.

The SDI delegates will meet and engage with Indian decision makers in the field of education to develop new opportunities and further explore key issues in higher education, including quality assurance, employability and global competitiveness.
