New Delhi: Terming the decision to close the Aligarh Muslim University sine die as 'tyrannical', the students of the varsity staged a protest here and demanded removal of the vice chancellor Prof Abdul Aziz.

The university has been closed indefinitely in face of students' protest over alleged murder of a student by certain anti-social elements.  The students held a protest at Jantar Mantar and said the AMU administration's decision to close the university indefinitely was 'autocratic'.

They demanded immediate restoration of academic activities in the campus and restoration of students' union.
