Updated on: Monday, November 02, 2009

Chennai: In open grievance session, students complained about the unprofessional way in which the distance education wing functions, at Madras varsity, chaired by V-C G Thiruvasagam.

A majority of the nearly 50 students who attended the session to have their grievances rederessed, studied through the distance education mode of the university. Delay in receiving their degree certificates, incorrect attendance and lesser marks in spite of good performance were part of their complaints.

Thiruvasagam assured them he would address these issues within a week. He also said that the IDE public relations officer would henceforth be accessible to the students to attend to their grievances.
