Election fever is gripping the State and students and student unions are the most sought-after by various political parties during the election campaigning.

Students in university hostels and those pursuing degree courses with affinity to some or the other political parties are used to propagate party ideology.

But what specific role should these student groups play during campaign?

Should they be allowed to open canvass for political parties? If so should they restrict to the respective parties manifesto or highlight the problems faced by the student community in general. Should they also take up the issues concerning employment opportunities?
