6,500 B.Ed graduates remained unemployed in Pondy

Puducherry: Unemployed teachers Welfare Association asked the government to amend recruitment rules for teachers and appoint B.Ed graduates in government schools to handle classes from class six to ten.

Talking to reporters , president of the Association G Antonish said more than 6,500 B.Ed graduates remained unemployed in Puducherry so far.  He said the Association wanted 80 per cent of the posts of teachers in middle schools to be filled through direct recruitmet of the B.Ed graduates and remaining through promotion of inservice diploma holders.
