National Institute of Technology (NIT), Mizoram invites applications from interested, eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme

nitNational Institute of Technology (NIT), Mizoram has released an admission notification, inviting interested, eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme for the commencing academic session 2016 to 2017 in the following disciplines:

Computer Science & Engineering
Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Humanities
Social Sciences
Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

Ph.D in Engineering: Those interested in applying should be holding a Master's degree in the area of engineering/technology from a recognised university/institute with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60 percent of marks in the qualifying examinations.

Or

Bachelor's degree in engineering/technology in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 70 prcent of marks and with a valid GATE score.

Ph.D in Science: Those interested in applying should be holding a Master's degree in the area of physics/chemistry/mathematics from a recognised university/institute with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60 percent of marks in the qualifying examinations and must qualify the NET examination conducted by CSIR.

Selection procedure:

A written test followed by an interview will be conducted for selecting the candidates for admission.

How to apply:

Those interested in applying, must download the application form from the official website. The completed application form along with the demand draft and other relevant documents, must be send to the heads of the respective departments, NIT Mizoram, Chaltlang (Dawrkawn), Aizawl, Mizoram -796012.

Important dates:

The last date for submission of applications is June 15
The names of the short listed candidates will be published on June 30
The written test and/or interview will be conducted on July 14 and 15
