More number of Students dropped from IIT during last 3 years.

 IITIt's a shocking news that over 4,400 candidates are dropped out of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and National Institutes of Technology (NIT) during the last three years. The reason is related to academic pressure, giving preference to jobs over studies, changing institutions, among others. Since 2012, a total of 2,060 students have dropped out of the 16 IITs across the country. In the same duartion, 2,352 students have dropped out of 30 NITs, informed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

The more number of dropouts were from IIT Roorkee, at 228, 209 dropouts from IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi faced 169 and IIT Bombay saw 72 students leave. In order to stop this drop out issue, the IIT have been making efforts to make various corrective steps such as setting up counselling sessions and special coaching classes for the students.

The procedure for refund of money if the student has not joined the course will be published after August 28. The students, no need to send any e-mail or make calls regarding the refund. The refund will be repaid to the students who give up on their seats before the academic classes starts. If the seat is given up after the starting of the classes, they would get a partial refund of the fee, according to the rules of the HRD Ministry. The students will not be eligible to any refund if a seat remains vacant.
