Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducts its Convocation Today

IGNOUThe Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is to celebrate its convocation day today. The convocation is scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm. This is the 28th convocation of The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in Delhi and is held for the students who passed their Master's degree programmes in December 2013 and June 2014.

This convocation will be held simultaneously at 56 centres of this university across the country. The main event is being organised at the  Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) headquarters in New Delhi. The convocation will be attended by the former chairman of University Grants Commission, Hari Gautam. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has also invited the former vice-chancellor of Lucknow University, D.P. Singh as the special guest.

The regional  Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) convocations will be conducted at the concerned centres. The function at the Thiruvananthapuram regional centre will be held at 3 pm, at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Poojappura. The DIG of Intelligence and Railways, P.Vijayan will attend the convocation as the guest of honour and adress the students.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) convocation at Kochi will be conducted through teleconferencing, at the Kaloor centre. The guest of honour in Kochi  Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be the Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Rose Varghese. Approximately 300 PG students from different centres in the area will attend the convocation at Kaloor.  Students scored higher percentage will be awarded gold medals at this regional centre. Jency L. will receive a gold medal for getting the top marks in Master of Sociology all over India. Total of 1,386 students are eligible to attend the convocation here
