UPSC Civil Services Results Announced: Delhi girls Tops the list

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the UPSC exam result 2014. This year, first four ranks of UPSC exam result 2014 have been achieved by the girls. Ira Singhal, a physically handicapped IRS officer from Delhi, has achieved the first rank in the exam.Ira, who is the topper of the UPSC exam result 2014 in the general category, has been followed by Renu Raj, a doctor from Kerala. The third rank in the UPSC exam has been secured by Nidhi Gupta, also an Indian Revenue Service officer from Delhi.

Vandana Rao, who is also from Delhi, has secured the fourth rank in UPSC exam result 2014 while Suharsha Bhagat, an IRS (Income Tax cadre) officer has achieved the fifth position in the UPSC exam result 2014. There are a total number of 1,236 candidates, including 590 in General category, 354 belonging to Other Backward Class, 194 from Scheduled Caste and 98 from Scheduled Tribe who have been recommended for appointment to various central government services. "I am really very happy. I can't believe this.

I just prepared for the examination. I want to be an IAS officer. I want to do something for the benefit of physically-handicapped people," IRA Singhal said. In a telephonic interview with Renu who has got second rank said, "I am extremely happy. I was preparing for the UPSC exam for the last one year." She works for a hospital in Kollam in Kerala and hails from Kottayam. Third rank holder Nidhi said it is a proud moment for her to get selected in the examination. "It is really a proud moment. I had put in lot of hard work and finally it paid off," she said. Presently she is working as an Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise.
