Indian Institute of Technology students - Internship in Abroad

Students used to take their internships normally in India, but now few students go to foreign countries to take internships. They try to take internship in multinational companies. United States of America and Germany became the popular countries in this case.

Prof. R. Nagarajan, the Dean of International & Alumni Relations at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras says, that several students from IIT (M) completed their summer internship in abroad at university and induction. The facilities are created with the foreign collaborators in this regard. The students receive a stipend to face the living cost. Alumni finding is used to cover travel. Around 50 students did their internship in abroad, every summer. It is compulsory that UG students have to undergo one internship in Indian Industry at the end of the third year.
