MBBS course - 2 years extension withdrawn

It was proposed and planned by the central Government of India to extend the course duration of MBBS course for a further period of one year and make it six and half years. Earlier to this. The duration MBBS course is 5 ½ years. It was also said, that the rural service for the medicals compulsory. These proposals were in the stage of implementation by the Government of India.

Opposing this, a large number of medical students organized opposition comprises on Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Around two thousand medical students of various Medical Institutions participated in this. Based on this agitation, the central Health ministry declared that the minister for Health Gulam Nabi Azad issued order to suspend the village posting. It is also reported that so for no decision is made to extend the duration of course for further 2 years.
