On the occasion of placement of Indian Institute of Technology Madras in this year, it is cognizant provided 27 offers to the candidates. As on Dec 1, last year 231 companies offered 906 offers for placements and it is reported that 786 students have been got placement so far. .the highest offer for the annual package was Rs.1.3 crore, 8 students received more than Rs.77 lacs per annum and these companies are almost from United States. Here, the offer was Rs.48.68 lacs per annum and 35 students received Rs.20 lacs per annum. 4 companies gave around 15 offers to the students. The company viz Samsung Research India, Bangalore provided 18 offers. Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology of provided 17 offered. The Mechanical Engineering candidates were the first in position in getting the placements shown 145 in number.

It is understood that 90% placement gone to computer department. In India it was Goldman sactis was the first in position by giving 10 offers of more than Rs.20 lacs per annum per candidate. Samsung Research offered 6, E-Bay Inc/ Paypal India provided 4, Schlumberger Asia services provided 3 and input India product Development centre provided 3. All of them almost offered Rs.20 lac per annum.
