Qualification of college staff in Madras University

The quality of faculties in self financing colleges becomes a serious issue now.The University responded a query from RTI that the inspection commission to check the infrastructure and staff facilities available at colleges to consider the affiliation. But the university has not conducted separate inspections to identify to qualifications of facilities of self finance colleges. No details are available about the self financing colleges employing unqualified facilities. In the same way the fee structure is also not under control.

There are 67 self financing arts and science colleges under the university. Many of these colleges have not appointed teachers in regular positions in contrast basis.

According to the sources there are several teachers in colleges with M.Phil and Ph.D getting simply Rs.4000 per months.
