Silver Jubilee convocation of Dr. M.G.R Medical University

Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu participated in the silver Jubilee convocation of Dr. M.G.R Medical University strongly objected the commercialization of Medical Education.  She said that efforts should be made to ensure maintenance of standards and check the growth of substandard Medical colleges.

In the current year Rs.6511 crore had been allotted to hold sector by providing top most priority to the health Welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu.  She quoted that the Government in implementing a number schemes to secure the health of the people. Due to the governments’ persistent efforts, the state second 410 additional seats in Govt Medical colleges in this year.  She also referred about her opposite of National Eligibility Test. In rhia peojxr, BOUR 11864 CANDIDATES OF MEDICAL, DENTAL, Ayush and allied Health Science courses received degrees and diplomas.  5 Senior Doctor were honoured with Life time Achievement Awards and 3 Doctor were presented with B.Sc Honor’s course.

Chief Minister said in this function that the building on the Omendurar Estate will soon be converted into a multi specialty Hospital to provide the best and affordable treatment to the common man.  She also said that a medical college would also be started.
