No Education for 22 lacs childrenMinister of state for Human Resource Development. Shashi Tharoor said that about 22 lac children in the country are not having even elementary education and headed that the responsibility to educate them. These children include tribal children, children of migrant workers and the begging children. He delivered these information while speaking in the launching session of Right to Education Anthem Video. HRD minister M.M. Pallam Raju and Rajya Sudha M.P Javeed Akthar were also present on the occasion.

The Minister told that even if a migrant worker’s child is in a place where the language is not of his family or the state, the child should have acquire basic literacy.

According to the sources, the lyrics of the RTE anthem has been written by lyricist Javeed Akhtar whle the song was sung by singers Sony Nigam and Sunidhi Chavhan. The Bollywood actors in RTE anthem video, features Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, Imrankhan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

The video will also be made in English and 15 regional languages to generate awareness to implement RTE.
