CIMA ties up with Babu Banarasi Das University Lucknow to offer its Management level course

CIMA - Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, has announced its first university partnership in Uttar Pradesh, through a  tie-up with Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU), Lucknow to offer its Management level course along with the University’s three year BBM (Professional) program.
 
BBDU’s new three-year BBM program will begin from August 2013 and entry is based on a 55% and above pass rate for Standard 12th students. The BBM program will cover the first 3 levels of CIMA professional qualification in management accounting- Certificate in Business Accounting, Operational and Management level.

Speaking about the tie-up with BBDU, Arati Porwal, Chief Representative, CIMA, said, ”Management accountants are the most sought after professionals today for the right balance of accounting and business management skills they bring to their organizations. We are happy to offer the  CIMA qualification along with a BBM degree at BBD University,

Lucknow to help students develop analytical, application oriented, decision making skills, rather than just theoretical knowledge of accounting. We believe this partnership is an important milestone for CIMA and management accounting in India.”

Dr. A. K. Mittal, Vice Chancellor, BBD University in a statement said that “the new BBM program jointly with CIMA meets the growing needs and demand of the industry and the students will get a wide range of employment opportunities in India and abroad."
