With the intention of testing Civil Service aspirants code of ethics and level of integrity, the UPSC has decided to introduce a new separate paper on "ethics, integrity and aptitude", worth 250 marks from this year onwards.

The UPSC has recently shared a sample paper for PAPER V - Ethics, Integrity and Aptitute.

The UPSC also clarified that the range and depth of questions that would be asked may differ.

During a time when the country's bureaucracy seems to be riddled with corrupt civil servants, the introduction of such a paper may be helpful in selecting the right cadre of candidates into the public services of India.

IAS coaching institutes too are accordingly changing to adjust to the new exam pattern.
