MBBS Students studying in Un recognized colleges

Referring that MBBS students studying in un recognized colleges are not victims of false representation, the Madras High Court has refused to stop the Medical council of India and the state Medical university from their admissions as illegal.

Joshica K.K. Sasidharan dismissed the request of 148 MBBS student of DD Medical Colleges to treat them on  par with students in other MBBS Colleges. The judge said that the MCI is a statutory authority with power and responsibility to maintain high standards in Medical Education.  If refused to grant permission to the institution to admit the student for 2011-12, 2012-13. These 148 students without making any effort to ascertain factual position, regarding statutory clearance, joined the course in the era of social awareness and availability of legislations like RTI act.  It can not be said that the students were the victims of false representations.

According to the judges the case is a classic case where a medical educational Institute took the students for a ride.

The mushroom growth of ill equipped medical and technical education is a threat to the society.  These institutions, would produce poor quality of professionals.  It is time the government and MCI dealt with such institutions strongly.
