The Ministry of Human Resources Department has constituted a high power committee with former IIT director Prof. Sanjay Dhande so set up a National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the Common Entrance Test.

This panel has been asked to submit its report within a year with parameters to standardize all major tests, including Joint entrance Tests.  It is also directed to set up Internationally Standardized Testing and assessment organizations which can conduct efficient, transparent and internationally standard tests to asses the competence of the candidates for admissions as well as recruitment.
