 New Electric Subject in CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education on Friday launched another electric subject, “knowledge Traditions and practices of India”.

In Tamil Nadu most of the schools did not want to have electric subject. Only few students takes those electives. Most of them do not in co-ordination with their main subjects. At this juncture, the schools find it difficult to find teachers.

Class XI students can opt for the new course for in this academic year, it will be carried over to XII.

The students expect that any subject what they learn should have some use with the main subjects.

The syllabus for the course is designed by former Joint Pro Chancellor Kapil Kapoor and introduction Forum of India’s Heritage convener Michael Damino among others, include topics like Mathematics astronomy fine arts and agriculture in ancient India.

Very few students in the state opt for electives since they feel they would not gain much from then and they feel they would not e useful for further studies.
