French accounting firm to hire 1,600 people by 2012

French accounting firm Mazars is gearing up to increase its headcount five fold in the next four years. The firm, which employs 400 people across four cities in India, will hire another 1,600 people by the end of 2012.

Mazars MD Bharat Dhawan said: There is immense growth potential in India and we are all set to cash in on the talent pool. The firm currently operates in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore and is looking to expand in risk advisory and corporate finance areas by opening offices in Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kolkata by the end of 2010.

Headquartered in Paris, Mazars is an integrated and independent firm specialising in audit, accountancy, tax, legal and advisory services. It is present in nearly 50 countries across the world, including India.
