DME instructs to close all unapproved institutions

Nagercoil: In a latest communication the Directorate of Medical education has urged the district administration to take action against all unapproved institutions.

The Director of Medical Education S. Vinayagam in an official message to the Collector Rajendra Ratinoo, directed him to close down all the para-medical educational institutions in the district that were functioning without the permission of the State Government.
Mr. Vinayagam stated that a consumer forum in Kanyakumari district, in its letter dated June 6, 2009, had given a list of institutions in the district that were not approved by the State Government, and urged him to take action.

Among the illegitimate include several schools of nursing, colleges of nursing and para-medical institutions, which are functioning in different parts of the district without obtaining permission of the State Government.

A district-wise list of schools of nursing, colleges of nursing and Para medical institutions approved by the state Government had been forwarded to all the Collectors.

Students could check the website to know about the status of the institution for which they seek admission, Mr. Vinayagam added in the statement.
 
The list had been posted in the website, www.tnhealth.org.
