1) In 2-1 verdict, three Judge SC bench says Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India have no statutory authority to conduct common Entrance Test, Central admissions to all medical colleges.

2) MCI and DCI only have mandate under low to prescribe standards to ensure excellence of Medical Education

3) Judgement of CJI Altamos Kabir and Justice Vikramjit sen quashes NEET which was envisioned, formulated and approved in 2010 by a 2 – judge SC bench to remove corruption in medical seats allotment. Justice A.R.Dave strongly dissents.

4) Admissions made on basis of NEET this year will not be affected. Private Medical College have already taken exempt from NEET this year.

5) If only one examination in the country is conducted and admissions given on the basis of result unscrupulous and money minded business men operating in the field of education would be constrained to stop their corruption practice.
