SU decides to introduce courses in Gandhian studies at both bachelors as well as masters degree level

 Saurashtra University (SU) has decided to introduce courses in Gandhian studies at both bachelors as well as masters degree level for external students. This was decided upon at a meeting of academic council held on Thursday. Another important decision taken at the meeting was to introduce PhD in homeopathy at the university.

Officials said that from the next academic session the Gandhian courses will also be offered to regular students.

vice-chancellor of the university Dr Mahendra Padaliya said, "Mahatma Gandhi's ideals are being considered as solutions to many problems being faced across the globe be it violence or global warming. His ideas are as relevant today as they were in the past. Saurashtra being the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and Rajkot being the city where he studied, we have decided to introduce Gandhian studies in at graduate and postgraduate levels."

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbandar and studied at Alfred High School in Rajkot.
