65 new secondary and higher secondary schools given approval by GSHSEB

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board ( GSHSEB) has approved 65 more secondary and higher secondary schools from the academic year 2013.

The board did not approve the applications of 165 schools. Ahmedabad, Patan and Vadodara have got approvals for one more school each. Rajkot has got the most approvals, with ten schools while Gandhinagar got nine.

Surat and Kutch have got approvals for eight schools each, followed by Panchmahals, Surat, Mehsana, Surendranagar and Navsari which will see four new schools each.

The board approved applications from April 4 to 18. Officials said applications for 25 schools have been kept pending as they were found lacking infrastructure and qualified teachers.
