IFTDO to hold a four-day conference to promote human resource development practices with central government

In order to promote human resource development practices across sectors in India and over 30 nations, IFTDO in collaboration with the central government will hold a four-day conference from April 23 to provide cross cultural and multi-disciplinary experience.

The International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO) is the premier global forum of human resource professionals, representing more than 5,00,000 professionals in over 30 countries.

B P Rao, President IFTDO and Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL said, "IFTDO a multi-cultural and multi-national collaboration of 35 countries concentrates on promoting HRD activities in a professional manner and bringing to it the multi-cultural angle."

The aim will be to promote HRD activities across companies and countries.

"HRD activities are cutting across companies and countries... we need to understand various contexts of HRD in various aspects, these contexts are all existing today, gives an opportunity for everybody to be a part of it, we need to create professional skills in the HRD space," Rao said.

The four-day (April 23-26) conference will provide cross cultural, multi-disciplinary and interpersonal experience.

Uddesh Kohli, Secretary General, IFTDO said, "IFTDO has been organising Annual World Conferences in different countries of the world, with illustrious and leading speakers and delegates from the world of business, government, academia and consultancy to share, communicate and collaborate ideas." 

IFTDO is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation of Training and Development professionals and organisations from all over the world. It was formed in Switzerland in 1970 and has significantly grown ever since with participation of nearly 100 member organisations.

IFTDO currently represents more than 5 lakh professionals in over 30 countries from all the continents of the globe.

Various wings of the government including Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Heavy Industry are working towards organising this conference.
