MGR Government Film and Television Training Institute sanctioned Rs 99 lakh towards renovation

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa sanctioned Rs 99 lakh towards renovation and procuring modern equipment for the state owned MGR Government Film and Television Training Institute, according to a state government press release.

After coming to know that the preview theatre at the MGR Institute was outdated and lacking in several facilities, the Chief Minister sanctioned the amount for renovating and upgrading the facilities.

The theatre would get xenon lamps, UPS, temperature controller, push back theatre seats, centralised air-conditioning with acoustal ducting, power conditioning and electrical termination.

Apart this, the institute would also get modernised equipment to digitalisie in colour the black and white reels at the cost of Rs 75 Lakh, besides 'Live Back Bag' that would help send footages of the events that Chief Minister takes part to all television channels at a cost of Rs18 Lakh.

The MGR Film and Television Training Institute, run by the State government, situated in Tharamani, is committed to creating quality artistes. The institute imparts knowledge on films and video graphing to students.
