Event launched to help MBA students address their concerns

This is that time of the year when MBA aspirants are in a dilemma as to which B-school to apply for. They are also jittery about how to prepare for group discussions and personal interviews. Educationtimes.com in association with Career Launcher organised MBA Junction on January 19, 2013 at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata. This event was an attempt to help MBA students address these concerns.

The event is an annual MBA fair where a variety of B-Schools set up stalls such that enough choices are made to available to students with a wide range of CAT, XAT, CMAT and MAT scores. Some of the colleges participating in the MBA Junction this year were IMI, Welingkar, SDMIMD, Kirloskar, ITM, NDIM, EMPI, Globsyn, EIILM, Alliance, Jaipuria, Indira etc. The primary objective of this event was to give an opportunity to the students to directly interact with the 35 B-schools from across the country. More than 700 keen MBA aspirants received first-hand information and details about the admission process, cut offs, placement, faculty, infrastructure, fee information etc at the event.The stalls were spread over three rooms and an open area.

Parallel to the B-School meet, in the adjoining auditorium, sessions were conducted on topics relevant for the students. Bikram Dasgupta, chairman and CEO, Globsyn Group conducted a thought-provoking session on the ‘Journey of a youngster from 19 to 32.’ Nationally-renowned motivator and corporate trainer, Akash Gautam, conducted power sessions on group discussion training. Renowned quizmaster Ravi Handa kept the audience and the participants guessing with his challenging and interesting questions in the business quiz. Exciting prizes like tablet PC, mobile phones, dominoes gift vouchers etc were won by students.
