CAT toppers start receiving calls from IIMs

Close to 60 interview calls by three Indian Institute of Management (IIM's) have already poured in much to the delight of Tricity CAT takers who fared top percentiles in the exam.

IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore, released their lists of selected candidates for interview on Friday and about 15 students each from tricity have been called to appear for interviews for admission to these coveted B-schools.

Nearly 30 others calls have been received from IIM-Shillong on Thursday. "The calls have been decent given the selection criteria of IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore. About 15 calls each from Ahmedabad and Bangalore IIMs have been received," says Hridesh Madan, north india head of a CAT training institute. Lovin Mahajan, who fared 99.89 percentile has received calls from IIM-A, B, S so far. He is currently pursuing his BE (Electronics and communication) engineering from PEC University of Technology.

"Congratulations calls have already started pouring in for getting calls from IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore although I am yet to check my email for confirmation. It is indeed exciting," says Lovin.

With the calls from various IIM's, speculations for estimate percentiles for admission to city based business schools have already begun. "The lowest cut off is expected to be around 85-87 percentile this year for a seat in the general category this year for University business school," says Madan. He adds that the cut off is expected to be lower this year in comparison to last few years at UBS.

"The number of forms sold this year were also far lesser in comparison to last few years," he adds.
