I & B ministry confirms the date of IIMC convocation as January 15

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) will hold its 45th convocation ceremony here on January 15.
 
"We had sent requests earlier last year asking for a suitable date for the convocation ceremony. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has sent us a confirmation letter with January 15 as the date for the same," Sunit Tandon, Director General, IIMC told.
 
I&B Minister Manish Tewari will be the chief guest, Tandon said. The ceremony will award Post Graduate Diplomas in various disciplines to IIMC students spread across various campuses, from the academic year 2011-12. The disciplines include English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Broadcast Journalism and Oriya Journalism.
 
The convocation will see students from the IIMC campuses at Dhenkenal (Odisha), Amravati, Aizawl among others.
 
Established in 1965 by the Government of India, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, headquartered New Delhi, is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
