ICAR awards International Fellowship Programme to TNAU graduate

Sashank Gaur, an M.Tech graduate from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here, has been awarded with International Fellowship Programme for his proposed Ph.D programme to be taken up at University of Illinois, USA.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research has introduced the programme as one of the prestigious fellowships offered to Indian Students studying in State Agricultural Universities (SAU) for pursuing PhD abroad for the current year.

The fellowship is for a period of three years, with a financial support of 1,600 US Dollars per month and an annual research contigency of 1,000 USD, a TNAU release said.

The candidates selected for the fellowship have to return to India on completion of their Ph D and have to serve in ICAR or SAUs.

15 candidates would be selected every year, the release said.
