In an effort to create awareness about the Armed forces, the Chandimandir-based Western Command organised a weapon and equipment display for the school children here.

About 2,000 students from the schools of Chandimandir and Rashtriya Military School, Chail (Himachal Pradesh) witnessed the display, a defence release said here.

The students showed keen interest in the weapons displayed and were fascinated by the rides they undertook on tanks, infantry combat vehicles and artillery guns.

The aim of the display was to increase awareness among the youth on the Army ways of life and motivate them to opt for the force as a career, it added.
