Punjab government to constitute a council to regulate practices of paramedical practitioners and institutions

 Punjab government will constitute a council to regulate practices of paramedical practitioners and institutions in the state and promote paramedical education.

The blue print of proposed Punjab State Paramedical Council Bill, 2012, has been uploaded on the website of the Medical Education and Research Department seeking public opinion by November 25, an official spokesman said here on Sunday.

He said council would lay down norms and standards for courses, curricula, physical and instructional facilities, staff pattern, staff qualification, quality instructions, assessment, examination and continuing medical education.

The Director, Research and Medical Education, would be the president of the council, whereas senior most principal of a state medical college would be inducted as vice president.
