Punjab CM inaugurates Punjab Institute of Technology

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal inaugurated Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), a new campus of Punjab Technical University, at Bhikiwind in
Tarntaran district.
 
"This is a big achievement of the people of border region and now the student of the area can easily get good technical education with the help of skilled teaching staff," Badal said in the opening ceremony at Bhikiwind, around 40 km away from here.
 
Anil Joshi, state's technical education and industrial training minister said that students should be taught basic skills in the field of technical education as per industries' requirement.
 
Rajneesh Arora, vice chancellor, PTU said, total amount projected for the institute is 6.82 crore and it will not only impart graduation courses but also secondary courses in field of technical education.
 
The campus which is a constitute college of PTU, would give vital importance to the integrated courses, he said adding that 11th and 12th standard students can also take admission here.
 
In the coming academic year they will introduce the provision to provide relaxation in the fees to the students belonging to rural area, he said.
