Rising incidence of physical violence against students at schools

In the recent days India has been rocked with several incidence of physical violence against school children.

In Shahdol (MP), a class X student of a government school was injured when he was allegedly beaten up by his teacher for not taking private tuition from him, police said.

Noushad, the student of Government Excellence School here, sustained injuries on his ears when his mathematics teacher R P Sharma allegedly thrashed him on Saturday at the tuition, they said.

The boy's father, Abdul Ahad has lodged a complaint.

In another incident, in Gopeshwar (Uttarakhand), students of a school in Chamoli district fell ill and had to be hospitalised after being punished by a teacher for allegedly disobeying him, officials sources said here.

The children of class eight fell ill after they were asked by the teacher to stand in stress position. They had to be admitted to a hospital at Tharali after they returned home. However, they were discharged after a brief treatment.

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident by the Chief Education Officer after the parents of the children lodged a complaint with the authorities, according sources
