Two geology students have found an unknown quartz vein rich in gold and silver during summer practice in Russia.

Dmitry Kuznetsov and Maria Uvakina, third year student at the St. Petersburg State University, have found the vein in Northern Ladoga region.

The vein stretched for dozens of meters in the territory of the Impilakhtinsky practice ground, Itar-Tass quoted a source at the geological department dean's office as saying.

A chemical laboratory test made in St. Petersburg showed high concentration of copper, gold, silver and sulfide minerals in the quartz vein.
