GTU signs credit transfer MOU with ABP

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has signed an memorandum of Understanding with Association of Business Practitioners (ABP) a UK based not for profit Qualification Awarding Body-recognized by Ofqual-a Government of UK regulatory body.

Dr Akshai Agarwal Vice Chancellor of GTU and Jason Raife Chief executive officer of ABP exchanged the MOU.

ABP has operations in more than 100 countries with a large strength of students. GTU examined the ABP program and found that three programs of ABP were equivalent to the first year program of MBA of GTU. GTU has therefore agreed to consider the applications of the PG Diploma holders of ABP for admission to the second year of GTU's MBA program. By this credit transfer MOU, overseas students will get an opportunity to study at the 2nd year of MBA at GTU and can gain a great cultural and study experience in the state of Gujarat. GTU's Global MBA programme shall also be enriched by cross culture inputs.

Jason Raife of ABP is expecting more than 1000 students in a year from worldwide ABP centers to grab this great opportunity of study in the state of Gujarat. This will bring to the GTU's MBA Colleges an additional revenue of approximately Rs 12 crores by way of Tuition fees of the overseas students. The state's economy will have an injection of another Rs 12 crores approx through the expenses on lodging & boarding by the students during their study.

This MOU is the first of its kind in the state of Gujarat. This will open the doors for foreign students to study for the Global MBA programme which has courses on Gandhian Ethics for Business and new specializations in International Business & Rural- Agro based management.
